WORK WITH US: Communications + Engagement Coordinator
Position type: Ongoing Part-time (0.7 FTE), subject to a 6-month probation.
Salary: $68,000 (pro rata) + 12% superannuation.
Days and Hours: The position is part-time, 26 hours per week. Work hours include 22.5 hours face-to-face (3 days a week, between the hours of 9am and 5pm across Tuesday to Friday) and the rest to be worked as flexible hours.
Location: The position is primarily based at Canberra Contemporary’s office in Parkes, ACT, with some occasional work at Platform, our satellite project space in Forrest ACT.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Communications + Engagement Coordinator is a key role at Canberra Contemporary, designed to help position the organisation as a leader in contemporary visual art, and engage local and national audiences through various marketing and communication platforms.
This role involves close collaboration with the Artistic Director + CEO, the Curator + Program Manager, as well as exhibition program artists to develop and implement Canberra Contemporary’s marketing, communications, and engagement activities, including publicity, digital and printed material. The Communications + Engagement Coordinator will oversee the delivery of a dynamic marketing and communications plan to strengthen engagement with all Canberra Contemporary exhibitions and events. This includes writing and disseminating press releases to media, nurturing relationships with media contacts, as well as maintaining an online presence for all Canberra Contemporary activities.
Under the leadership of the Artistic Director + CEO, the Communications and Engagement Coordinator will also support the ongoing development of audience, membership, and supporter engagement. This includes working towards fundraising campaigns and annual membership events in collaboration with the Canberra Contemporary team. The Communications + Engagement Coordinator will also assist the Artistic Director + CEO with donor and partner communications, including donation processing and record-keeping.
