2023 Artist In Residence

Bridget Baskerville is the recipient of the CCAS Australian National University’s School of Art & Design Emerging Artist Support Scheme Mentorship and Exhibition award.

Bridget is a recent Honours graduate of the ANU School of Art & Design, and will receive mentorship and support from CCAS during 2023, culminating in a solo exhibition of new work at CCAS Manuka in December.

Bridget’s graduating work Undercurrent was shown at ANCA in Of Place and Time, a joint exhibition with Helen Stark. Undercurrent explores the social value of water in Bridget’s home town of Kandos on Dabee Wiradjuri County. The waterways around Kandos have been damaged, eroded, and diverted by industry, agriculture, and colonisation. Undercurrent investigates the way we value water and how these values interconnect with the history, ecology, community, and identity of place.
