Landscapes in painting and photography are notable for being still, if not serene. It is in the nature of these media that even a turbulent natural event will appear to be motionless. In reality of course nothing could be further from truth – landscapes are alive and movement is everywhere. Heike Qualitz uses the medium of video to explore the contradictory nature of ‘still life’ in Between Coming and Going.
