TALES FROM THE UNDERWORLD

Tevita Havea

February 6th - March 14th 2009 | CCAS Goman

Tevita Havea explores the differing influences of his Pacific Islander background and current city life. Using materials such as glass, wood and twine his works are underpinned by Islander mythology and legend. Drawing on ancient rituals and initiations such as tattooing, Havea focuses on the way these customs generate a spiritual transformation of the physical body.
