In an entertaining series of photographs Maurice Ortega places Disney’s heroic character Mickey Mouse, a familiar icon across many cultures, at the centre of an ongoing adventure that refects the episodic nature of comic books. Ideas of cultural change and assimilation are central to Mouse as Maurice acknowledges the long-term process of taming this mischievous 1920s mouse for increasingly puritanical 21st century public consumption.
