Artist Statement: Towards the end of 2008 when it was clear that we were heading for a hard times, I started creating anonymous faces on found boards and old signs. Street art and graphic novels inspired these works. While painting I would listen to the old black box wireless in my studio capturing sound bites from public and talk back radio. These random statements were added to the portraits as thought bubbles
