Presented as part of the Craft + Design Canberra Festival.
7 November 2026 - 30 January 2027
Exhibition Opening: Friday 6 November 2026, 6pm
Quietly Seething: Fate, Fury and Transmutation, is a major new solo exhibition by feminist artist and craftivist Dr Tal Fitzpatrick. This exhibition is a socially engaged artwork that makes space for a conversation about the power and pain of feminine rage using the gentle and familiar textures of cloth. Held within this installation are the anonymous stories of 60 female identifying and AFAB people who shared with the artist why they are quietly seething. The exhibition demonstrates an ambitious reimagining of the possibilities of contemporary craft and textile practice as a tool for political and social change.
This project is supported by Canberra Contemporary, Craft + Design Canberra Festival, and artsACT through City of Design funding. The development of this project was supported by HOTA Home of the Arts through the ArtKeeper Program.
