The work in Reside was inspired by Bunnings catalogue line drawings. I am intrigued by the symbolic associations objects hold and what our interactions with them may have to say about human impulses and motivations. Our lives are a series of actions and interactions with objects. The urge to make and destroy is inherent in our nature. We in the affluent west are currently in the grip of a renovation rev-olution escalated by TV programs such as The Block, 60 Minute Makeover, The Renovators, Homes Under The Hammer, Escape to the Countryand Grand Designs.
